If yes, then it can be a sign of burnout. You’re not alone. Even I was burned out for the past few months. The survey reports a 21% increase in work burnout in 2021.

The World Health Organization (WHO) states burnout is a syndrome caused by consistent work stress that is left untreated for a long time. Three major symptoms include exhaustion, cynicism at work, and reduced productivity.

However, it’s hard to recognize burnout symptoms as they feel similar to exhaustion and usually get ignored. In consequence, it negatively impacted my work and personal life for several months.

Recovering from burnout is a slow process. It may take months and even several years. Therefore, it’s important to address burnout before it gets too late.
