Have you ever been in an uncomfortable conversation where you feel uninviting and you just want a way out without being rude?

Some Tips To Help You Get Out of This Situation.

There is no doubt you will feel impolite and insolent leaving so here I am going to share some tips to help you get out of that situation.

Always Smile

First thing .. always SMILE.. ought to look well disposed and friendly.

You do this so that the person who you are talking with should feel that you enjoy their conversation.

Make a positive comment and give a reason

Next, express some positive feelings about the other person, as you do not want to appear rude and then justify your conversation.

You could say something like;

  • You are so entertaining; or
  • You are amusing and then state your reason. e.g I could keep talking to you all day, but I’ve got some errands to run; or
  • My schedule is full; or
  • I’ve got chores to do.

Thus, you avoided sounding rude.

Summarising your next step

Summarising or informing your next move is another way to get out of a situation/conversation.

Let’s say you and your colleague are working on a project and you need to present it to your manager. You can summarise by saying,
